What’s The Latest In The “World of Jed?”

Glad you asked….

It’s been too long since I’ve checked in to give
any updates about my progress.

If you’ve been studying and/or participating in the
world of Internet Marketing in any capacity I’m sure
you’ve been buried in emails from the “gurus” as of late.

It’s fall season and they all know that there’s a “back to school”
mentality and that people are naturally more receptive to the
idea of learning and sharpening their skills.

And, the gurus also know that their coming into their most
profitable time of year. So, that’s why we’re getting slammed
with promotional email right now.

It’s soooooo hard to maintain the proper focus when there
are so many “shiny objects” for us to chose from that are all
promising to take us to the promise land full of easy money,
fast cars and beautiful women which can all be had if we’ll
only buy their products.

Trust me, I know because I’m an easy target. I buy a ton of
how to make money online products and keep up on the
latest tactics out there.

There’s alot of cool tools, software, training and all of that
out there to keep us up-to-date in the latest, easiest and fastest
ways to make money online.

The hard part is to stick with any of them long enough to
see the results. From what the gurus say, there’s a large
portion of the people that buy their products and never even
read the first 5 pages or watch the first video of their training!

That is insane!

I’ve done it on several occasions myself which is weird to even admit.
I’ll buy a $497 training program and get into the first 2 or 3 videos and
lose interest because I can see there’s going to be alot of set up and work
involved in getting this latest system to work and actually get it to where
it’s going to be up and running and pulling in cash.

So, what do I do (and a majority of other people)? Go off and buy
another “shiny object” that looks like it will be alot more simple or
alot more easier to do than the thing I just bought. So, I’ll fork over
another $497, $997 or $1,997 and off I go into this new program
with the best of intentions to really make it happen this time!!!

It’s been an interesting year to say the least.

I’ve dipped my toes in CPA marketing, affiliate marketing, autoblogging
programs, etc, etc….

As a result, my income from my online ventures has been spotty depending
on how much time and effort I put into any one online money making tactic
that I’ve used.

Common sense would tell the logical mind that this would be the most predictable
outcome when trying to make money online. BUT…. when we’re swimming with
the sharks we run the risk of getting bitten or ate. When us entrepreneurial types
are pursuing opportunities, we tend be overly optimistic and think all that all of
our great ideas will be big hits.

This opens us up for the gurus or wanna-be-gurus to easily make sales off of us
when peddling their wares. What I find myself doing is “melding” my great ideas
with the guru’s latest product’s sales letter promises, in my mind of course, and
justifying buying.

I’m not down on gurus. So please don’t take this as a guru bashing post because
it’s not. It’s just that when those of us are in the game of trying to make money
online we tend to be easy targets for easy sales and there are people out there
posing as gurus who take advantage of that fact.

So, I just wanted to share a little of my own insights into why I find myself
buying alot of info products this time of year and that I need to be aware
of what’s going on in my mind so that i don’t go too crazy and buy everything
that comes through my email inbox.

Buying into everything that’s offered can easily spiral into a never ending cycle
of learning and studying and not getting enough of the right stuff done that
counts. Things that get the money coming in which is why we all started on
this journey to begin with right?

So, just a word of warning that we need to be careful about buying too many
shiny objects. It can put us behind in our efforts to make a full time income
online.

“See” you soon!!

Could Internet Businesses Possibly Be The World’s First Perfect Business?

I’m voting yes! I’ve looked at ALOT of different
types of businesses and business models and
having an Internet Business seems to top them all!

You truly can design your life to fit around how
you make a living when you have a successful
Internet Business.

There’s no commute to an office (unless you want one),
there’s no need for all kinds of “in-house” employees,
no need for certain types of business insurance……

Etc., etc., etc…… the list could go on and on!

I’ve read and heard alot of different people say that
there’s “a million ways to make a million dollars online.”

I’m really starting to see exactly what they mean by
that. Before, I just thought it was a bunch of hyped
up nonsense just to get you to buy something.

Now that I’m more than a few months into this whole
endeavor, I’m realizing there literally ARE a million
ways to make a million dollars online!

From my observations, it’s a matter of sifting through
the various Internet Business models that you can find
and picking one of them and doing it. Fully.

I’ve made the mistake of thinking that I needed to buy
every little ebook and course that comes down the pike
and that I need this product and that product just to be
able to “figure it out.” Not true.

The hardest part is figuring out which model to learn
about and use as your own.

And then, finding a mentor who’s been there and done
whatever it is that you would like to do online.

I’ve found that to be pretty tricky.

But, I’m putting the time and effort in to finding people
who really have “been there, done that” to learn from.

Now, it’s just a matter of mastering the techniques they
share and teach. I’m not trying to make it sound easy
because that is FAR from the truth!

It’s a difficult task to first figure out an online business
model that you really enjoy and that may match some of
the skills you already have, let alone a mentor who can
teach you the steps, tactics and techniques that will get
you where you want to go.

But, you gotta keep on keepin’ on… as they say.

That’s it for now. I’ll post more soon!

Until then….”keep on keepin’ on!!”

Successful Internet Business: It’s Not All About The Money

Sure, having a successful Internet Marketing Business would mean having
fat bank accounts and would relieve financial pressures on all fronts.

BUT….

There’s other tangible and intangible things it would bring as a bi-product.

For one, just the peace of mind it would bring knowing that you have
constant cash flow coming in, possibly from work you only do once,
would mean that the mental energy most people spend on worrying
about how they’re going to pay this bill and that bill would be eliminated.

This, in turn, lowers stress levels.

Lower stress levels bring the benefit of a lower chance of high blood
pressure and other serious medical ailments.

The need to have to go to a job that might be low paying and stressful
would be eliminated.

That isn’t to say that there wouldn’t be any stress at all in building
an Internet Business. I’m just saying that it would be “good stress”,
although “good stress” would seem to be a dichotomy, it means that
you are the one applying the pressure and stress and not an outside
force.

Having a successful Internet Business would mean more mental freedom
to explore thoughts and ideas and allow you the chance to pursue some
or all of your ideas.

When the mental energy that is used to focus on having and keeping a
job is channeled instead into developing your own thoughts and the pressure
of having to pay monthly bills is eliminated from owning a successful
Internet Business, imagine what you could accomplish!

And, when the money is flowing in consistently from your online efforts
and not from the exchange of time for dollars, it frees up more of your
time (alot more) to spend as you want.

Want to spend more time with your family? Build an Internet Business
Want to spend time pursuing a passion or hobby? Build an Internet Business.
Want to spend your time ____________________________(fill in the blank)? Build
an Internet Business.

According to alot of the courses and programs that I’ve been studying for the
last few months, It all starts with a DECISION to build an Internet Business.

Once you figure out and decide that it is a worthy endeavor, you then work
backwards and reverse engineer what other successful Internet entrepreneurs
are doing and do what they’re doing.

I’m not talking about plagiarism. I’m talking about really dissecting their
operations and figuring out what new twist or improvement you can make
to their product or service that will make it truly unique and make it your
own.

Have you heard this saying “There are a million ways to make a million dollars”?

Well, that is true on the Internet. Probably even more so than any other
business model you might have looked and considered as your vehicle
to business ownership.

Remember, building a successful Internet Marketing business isn’t all about
the money. But, it sure is a nice bi-product!

Until next time….

Pursue your ideas and dreams with passion!

The Importance of Focus When Building An Internet Marketing Empire

Wow! Very important and official sounding title to this
post isn’t it? Well, it is important. Everyday it seems
I am reminded of the importance of focus.

Especially since I have yet to reach my ultimate income
goals. It’s simple really. If you’re not reaching your goals,
you probably have to take a good hard look at your actions
and activities and make adjustments.

Seems like common sense. But, alot easier said than done.
If it wasn’t, there would be no need for so many books,
courses, seminars, trainings, etc on the subject of “How To
make money online“.

I came across an awesome article that explains it way
better than I ever could.

The article is titled:

“The Stunning Truth About Focusing On The Important”

At first glance, it would seem that by focusing so intently on
something that it would be all consuming and completely
swallow up all of your time. But, after you read that article,
you’ll see it actually has the opposite affect.

By focusing in on one thing at a time, it ends up freeing up
huge chunks of time.

Read the article. You’ll see what I mean.

See you soon!

Information Marketing & Publishing Business Empire: My Progress

Just thought I better give an update to my progress….

I attended Alex Jeffrey’s live workshop for his coaching
students in Vegas last month and have been putting
a few things together modeling after alot of what he
shared at the event.

One of the biggest takeaways and something that’s
really come up alot in most of the things I’m reading
and studying lately is that in order to have success,
you have to create value.

You have to find a way to create value for anyone who
crosses your “cyber path”.

It seems like common sense but it’s a little more tricky
than you might think.

I think one of the things that a majority of us do is
that we discount the knowledge and skills that we
all possess from our life experiences and job experiences.

To create value, all we have to do is share our experience.

What I didn’t realize is that since I know how to buy a domain
name, set up hosting, put up a blog, etc, etc, in the online
world, that that experience puts me in a different class.

I now have skills and knowledge that alot of other people
don’t have. And there is value in that. Especially when I
show others to do the same thing for themselves.

And, as I gain more and more knowledge and experience
in this game, those assets can be shared with people who
have less experience and knowledge than me and I can add
value to their life by sharing it with them.

And, so on and so forth.

Gain more knowledge and experience and you are able to
add more value to other people’s lives.

Sorry if that doesn’t give a very good update on my specific
progress but it’s a realization that I’ve had and thought I’d
share it with you.

I hope it makes sense to you and that you realize whether
you’re just getting started in this Internet Marketing game
or your a seasoned veteran, if you share your knowledge
and experience willingly and often, you are adding value
to the marketplace.

Until next time….

Never stop learning and always share what you learn to
add value to other people’s lives.

Take care,

Jed

Live Seminars & Workshops…The Key To Internet Business Success?

I just got home from a seminar that Alex Jeffreys hosted
in Las Vegas. And, I’ve gotta say… it was excellent!

It made me realize that meeting people live and in person
may be one of the biggest keys to Internet Business success
that very few people understand.

Alex talked about this at the event. He explained how he
traveled “across the pond” many, many times to various
Internet Marketing seminars and meeting the players in
this game on multiple occasions.

He explained that attending these live events and meeting
the key players allowed him to “shortcut” his path to success.

He told a story of one seminar that Mike Filsaime walked up
to him, put his arm around him and asked him if he’d like to
join him for lunch.

And, after people witnessed that, they instantly started asking
Alex what time he was going to be speaking. This, as Alex
explained gave him instant credibility just because of the law of
“guilty by association”. (Is that actually a natural law?)

Being able to ask questions, meet and interact with other attendees,
interact and ask question of speakers and just hang out and drink
a few beers trading stories and getting to know one another goes
miles and miles in establishing yourself in your Internet Marketing
career.

All of those benefits of attending live events can be considered
“side-effects”, and that the content and learning material covered
in the seminar or workshop itself is the main benefit.

But, many who are in the know, would argue that the curriculum
of the workshop and the things you can learn from the content are
the side-effects and that the networking and building of relationships
is the main benefit.

I tend to agree with the latter.

After attending Alex’s seminar/workshop, I would have to say that
if you aren’t making an effort to attend workshops and live events
in this industry, then I would have to say that you really aren’t serious
about owning and operating a real, successful Internet Business.

So, if you aren’t attending live events and you are serious about
wanting to make your Internet Business successful, I’m sure I’ll be
seeing you at one of the next seminars.

I know I’ll be there! Will you?

How Do You Balance Study and Action in Your Internet Marketing Business?

As someone who’s just starting out on my journey to
become financially independent by setting up and
running a successful Internet Business, I have trouble
with this issue constantly.

The issue is how to balance study and action.

No matter how far along in the journey of being an
Internet Entrepreneur anyone who may be reading this
is, I’m sure they’ve struggled with this issue as well.

The thing is is that there are so many things that
seemingly need to be studied.

For example, Marketing online is actually just one
form, method or media of marketing. Although it
is, in my opinion the best medium for marketing
that has ever been invented, you still have to first
know how to market.

So, before anyone thinks they can just get online,
set up a website and start selling things, they have
to know some basics about marketing and/or selling.

Study of the art of selling through the use of the written
word is a necessity to be able to create a sale online.

Some of the other major areas one must have some
basic skills or knowledge about are the technical things
that need to be done in order to even be able to get a
website online or be to able to distribute an affiliate link
in the proper places.

The technical side of an Internet Marketing business
can be somewhat mind-numbing even for the most
advanced marketers.

Having to hone your skills or acquire the knowledge
needed to be able to market online in an of itself can
be an all consuming endeavor.

Studying just the technical things that need to be done
for an Internet Business requires either enormous amounts
of time or some capital investment. And then there’s the
actual marketing knowledge that must be acquired to have
any sort of success.

Gaining the skills and knowledge of the marketing and
technical aspects can and will consume enormous amounts
of time.

Therein lies the problem.

If you’re spending enormous amounts of time to acquire
the skills and knowledge that it takes to run an Internet
Business, it is most likely that you aren’t being paid while
you acquire these skills and knowledge.

So, how does one sustain a job that pays the bills
while nurturing their entrepreneurial skills, maintain any
sort of relationship with family and friends and keep their
sanity while at the same time figure out how to derive an
income from an Internet Business?

Unfortunately, there is not an easy answer to that question.

As I’ve found, (and probably you have too) anything in life
that is worthy of achieving or acquiring because you feel
that being able to achieve or acquire that thing, or things
would make you successful according to your own standards,
is going to have challenges in the attainment of those things.
(whew, that was a mouthful!)

The fact of the matter is is that when you and I have questions
like this as “newbies”, we’re just going to have to ask for help.

We’re going to have to find someone who is doing exactly
what we are trying to do, having the exact results that we
are trying to attain and go and ask them how they did what
they did and if they have some advice for us.

In other words, find a mentor.

It’s a double edged sword really. It could be considered
ironic even but, you have to keep studying how other people
have done it and are doing it.

I think the trick is to study AND implement at the same time
if at all possible. In other words, implement what you learn
as soon as it is possible and feasible to do so.

I guess I would liken it to building a house out of bricks.
You have to build it one brick at a time. Place a brick, trowel
some mortar, place a brick trowel some mortar, place a brick,
trowel some mortar……..

and on and on until one day there is a fully built house
sitting in front of you. Or, in our case a fully functioning
Internet Business that’s bringing in cash automatically from
all of the things we’ve learned and implemented along our
journey.

I hope what I’ve written here has helped you if you too have
been struggling with this issue.

As I’ve been thinking about this issue, I came across this
little report (that had resale rights to it) and thought I would
give you a chance to pick it up for a very reasonable price.
(Only $27 – $7)

It covers some of what we’ve been talking about here and
has a few sections in it that talks about planning and how
to at least create a “Daily-Mini Plan”.

Just click the link below, PayPal the $7 over and I’ll email
the report to you.

I’ll have this set up on it’s on page soon so it’s delivered
instantly. But for now, just click the “Buy Button” and I’ll
send it over ASAP!

Thanks for reading and I look forward to sharing more
useful information to help you and I build our Internet

To Win in The Internet Marketing Game You Have To….

Hi Friends!

I hope all of your holiday celebrations and get-togethers
were fun and relaxing. My holidays were decent.

As Forest Gump would say….”That’s all I’ve got to say
about that….”

Moving on…..

I just wanted to share a realization with anyone who may
be checking in on my progress on my journey to Online
Wealth.

I came to this realization while in deep thought about
what it really takes to be successful in this whole Internet
Marketing game.

And the realization is this (or epiphany, if you will):

To win in the Internet Marketing game, you have to
constantly, consistently and forever, be……

WRITING!

For anyone whose been at this game for a while,
your going to say “well, duh…!”

But, here’s the thing…..

It never really dawned on me how much writing
a person has to do every single day to be successful
in this business.

Come to think of it, the amount of success you have
in any business as an entrepreneur may be directly
linked to the amount of writing you do while engaged
in that business.

I’m sure someone has done a study or tracked or
measured the level of success top entrepreneurs
have had based on the amount of writing they do
in their day-to-day business activities.

If not, there should be a study done.

Back to my epiphany…..

I realized that the only reason the Internet
even exists is for the purpose of exchanging
information.

And the main mode of information exchange
is through the written word.

So, If you and I are hoping to achieve any
level of success in our Internet Marketing
careers, we’re going to have to do alot
of writing.

Also, when I talk about the act of writing,
it includes any writing you do for your business.
From the writing you do for planning and the
writing you would have to do for a sales video
script.

It seems simple enough but to keep a steady
flow of communication going through writing,
you have to be very disciplined to push yourself
to make sure you are writing something every
single day.

That’s it for now.

I hope you come to the same realizations in
your efforts to succeed in business. Especially
if it’s an Internet Marketing Business.

Google Deleting Adwords Accounts?

Anyone had this happen to them? I personally have not.
Could be because I only have 2 small test campaigns going
at the time.

From what I understand, this is just another way for Google
to “shake out” the account holders that refuse to follow their
rules of how they want their advertisers to play their game.

Alot of people are pissed off at Google and talking about using
other traffic sources.

This is going to get very interesting to see how this changes
the online advertising landscape.

Anyone have an opinion or personal experience to share?
